Door off track

The door has come out of the horizontal or vertical track. This guide covers derailed rollers, bent track, impact damage, and cable failure.

A door that has come out of its track is a mechanical hazard. First, pull the emergency release and disconnect power to the operator. What do you see?

Look at both sides of the door and identify which panel(s) and which rollers have come out of the track.

Safety

Only pull the emergency release when the door is in the fully closed position. If the door is partially open and the springs are broken, the door may drop rapidly under its own weight.
Always disconnect the operator and secure the door before working
Never stand directly under an unsupported door
If the cables are off the drum, the spring system may be compromised. Check before operating.
